A small apiary with great respect for the bee.
Golden Honey Beekeeping is a family-run operation tending hives across the South African countryside. We believe good honey starts with healthy bees, clean foraging land and patience at every step from frame to jar.
Beekeeping is a relationship.
Every visit to the apiary begins by listening — to the hum, to the temperament of the colony, to what the bees need that day. We never take more honey than the hive can spare, and we never feed sugar to bulk up harvest. Healthy colonies make exceptional honey.
Our hives are placed near indigenous wildflowers and citrus groves, well away from commercial spray. The result is a honey that genuinely tastes of where it comes from.
The Craft
Cold extraction, never heat.
We extract by hand and bottle raw — never pasteurised, never ultra-filtered. That keeps the natural enzymes, pollen and aroma intact. Crystallisation is normal and a sign of quality; warm the jar gently in water to return it to liquid.
